Accuracy is still top notch. Every few years making a trip to the Rolex Centre for its free lifetime battery replacement. It's been a 'pilgrimage' of sort LoL.

If I ever considered such a model, I think I would like to get the best of both worlds (oyster quartz case & mechanical movement) = ref. 1630 or 1530! ...  

Hello jonrus: Yes, the models 1530/1630 which employ the same case used later in the Quartz model but with fitted an automatic movement reference 1570 are very rare as only 1.500 watches were made.

So they might be considered a "semi prototype". Both the 1530 all steel rerference called Oyster Perpetual Date and the ref 1630 Steel gold variant called Oyster Perpetual Datejust where introduced in 1975 and produced till year 1977 (a few were assembled...
