King Midas stuff
Hey Guys!
Thought you might enjoy this.
Something VERY different....
King Midas came into being in the mid 1960's. The Reference 9630 is the watch Elvis wore! (and that's a stamp of quality, eh). In the mid 70's they re-introduced it. The original series was made in 1000 pieces. The second version (Reference 4315) was made in 5000 pieces. After those 5000 they started to brand it as a Cellini - and they branched out to ladies versions and even strap based versions.
The case is not an oyster, and as such, most of them are water damaged to some extent. This one is OK in my opinion. Please note the left hand side crown position.
Interestingly the second limited batch + the later ones also came with optional dials. Most had this gold colored dial, but they came up with Blue, Wood (yes!) and lapis dials aswell. Diamond studded dials have been seen in the market, but mostly on the 3'rd generation Cellinis.
Sincerely,
Morgan
