I've always appreciated your strong views on things, Mostel. This one is no exception and helps reinforce my feelings for this one..

The posts that I make can be seen as a running ownership journal. In this particular case, it's the back and forth that we experience on some of the pieces that we buy even after all the research has been done.
Buying the SD43 isn't anymore about the piece itself but putting myself into the fire to better understand what I really want. I had to do it because in all its simplicity, Rolex lines are the most complex to understand, at least for me. It's enigmatic and polarizing all at the same time. And it plays on the mind. I just had to do it or it's gonna drive me nuts. There's an analogy to photography here back in the days of film. Stuck with a roll of film with a view on maximizing it, they say that in every outing, one should just press the shutter regardless to get it over with or otherwise one will never get around to photographing. This is me pressing the shutter on that roll of submariner film once and for all.. which curiously upon reaching the development lab has become a seadweller
You'll be reading more of my back and forth on this one but hopefully with some sort of progression. I think it's going to end well like your Kermit experience.
Thank you for taking the time out to share your thoughts and looking out for the enthusiast. It's what makes this forum just a tad more special
Best, Echi

So I’ve had this beast on my wrist for a couple of weeks and decided to take a vacation from it. Not because it was too heavy as I found myself always reaching out for it primarily because of balance and comfort afforded by the well made glide lock fitted...

mine met a similar end. I found I preferred my older 16600 as a daily wear watch and the 43 had to go. The 14060 and the M are wonderful and elegant.
Same opinion here

I had a hard time choosing between it and the Cameron, which I ultimately chose. If I had to criticize it, it's just that it looks, at a glance, like a Sub, which means, 'every Rolex'. I chose The Cameron because it was so unusual and because it sang to m...
