This is the first time in about 35 years that I don't agree with Patrick on something, so let me add a brief reply as well! :-)) First off, thanks for reporting on this pleasant visit (and follow-up) with a Rolex AD!

I'm always glad to read the occasional positive reviews of Rolex ADs, given how tough their job has been in recent years, as they navigate the enormous popularity and demand for this brand. While I'm much closer to Patek and its ADs than I am to Rolex, because of its market segment I'm well aware that Rolex's situation is perhaps even more challenging than Patek's in many respects! ;-)

Regardless of whether your SF representative will eventually be able to offer you the watch you requested, her gesture was as elegant as it was, by any metrics, highly unnecessary (I love your Freudian slip "steal watches"! ;-))

And it was also nice of the Vegas AD to give you a chance (although indirectly) at a sought-after piece, in a situation where normally no opportunity materializes....again, something to be valued in this most challenging and competitive market, where the good and patient collectors such as yourself are those who should ultimately get rewarded smile

Cheers.

My wife and I are visiting Las Vegas and visited one of the Rolex AD. While chatting with one of the sales about the Datejust I prefer, he discovered that we had purchased a watch from their SF branch before. He obtained my contact information and said he...

Since Tourneau is the only store with locations in both Las Vegas and in San Francisco. Strange though, this is overall bad for Rolex. Customers in Vegas want immediate gratification. Either a business deal went through at a business meeting or convention...

Maybe they'll eventually start selling in Vegas again.

Once they have inventory. But that's just so counterintuitive. Unless the policy at Tourneau has changed and that the employee can make his commissions even at a different store. I'm trying to think about Tourneau operations. Either way. Definitely a surp...

Very interesting 🤔

I was at a Rolex AD and I was inquiring about the explorer 2, and they told me that the only watch they take actual orders are on the datejust, I can put it in and order it. I’m very impressed with the level of professionalism to transfer you to your loca...

That's professional.

and yes, on this, whether I receive a watch is secondary to the kind and professional gestures from both sales representatives.
