The Long Good Friday- my impression of owning

Dec 28, 2018,08:32 AM

So what’s the verdict now that the initial buyers fever and ecstasy is over- buyers remorse? Or an enduring love that gets stronger?

Well to he fair, I owned a 2007 example bought back in 2007. I bought it because instantly I knew this was a fantastic piece and guaranteed future classic.

Its the only watch to have drilled lugs no SEL bracelet and an engraved rehaut.

It was also the first chronometer certified non date sub since the beloved 5512.

I had to sell it to fund other watches sadly and regretted it.

But no more, because as Baron’s excellent review showed , there is a unique version, the LGF

I am absolutely loving it. It grows more on me every day. I also bought recently the 1990’s tritium Speedmaster and I genuinely believe these make the perfect collection.

Yes its fun with all the finite attention to detail we obsess about on Rolex, to the uninitiated its sheers madness. Byt that is exactly what collecting Rolex is all about.

So buyers remorse? No way. Sadness - yes - I didn’t get it Years ago.

Despite this Hype they are still brilliant price, sincerely if you  wNt to have a non fate sub for reasonable 💴 with a Rolex uniqueness - go grab one.

The 14060M four line with its drilled hole case, non SEL bracelet, chronometer movement and engraved rehaut is wonderful homage watch celebrating bith the vintage and the modern.
Who doesn’t like a long good Friday.......

My wife and I gave my son one as a wedding present. Unfortunately it doesn’t have the long f but he still loves it. Regards Kev.

Joe's post, other wristshots since, and now yours has me seriously thinking...!?! Am looking at some others though, and if I become brave enough to seriously pursue, my LGF will have to wait...unless... Wear in good health, and I'm very happy this model h...

Nice Review, but i think your LGF is a M-Serie. The first Chronometer 14060 M is from Z- Serie, like my other 14060M - Z8123xx. Do you agree this! There is another difference, the last year (2012) is not numberd between the lugs. It is numberd at the Reha...

Yes, To clarify I meant the 14060M in 2007 as the series, which includes the LGF

Hope thats clarifying your question Regarding the number between the lugs, yes indeed very rare!! My personal experience is collectors tend to go with visual variations like red letters or deoth in red or four lines or a bezel variation But indeed you hav...

I guess this a) a Rolex, b) a no date Submariner, c) a special modern Submariner

at the right time for many here and outside this forum. It came just at the right time for me: I always fancied one of those. What I like about it is that I can still der that F with my naked eyes 😀!

I think it is already known outside this forum

There was a LGF on ebay and it was bought immediately from someone. I will have to check it on German sites.

Great shots.
