The almost perfect diving watch for me...
Sep 10, 2020,22:20 PM
It seems like the new 41mm subs are receiving a lot of attention everywhere, though I would think it’s partly due to hype/FOTM, the slimmer lugs and longer PR does make it an attractive offer.
I, on the other hand, prefer Tudor’s BB58 as my almost perfect diving watch, although the only diving I do is desk diving.
The BB58 was launched with similar hype but things have died down abit and it’s now not that difficult to find one at AD. Perfectly sized at 39mm, for my hands at least, the vintage inspired dial, beautiful bezel and highly comfy bracelets makes it almost perfect for me. The only nag is the pseudo-rivets, Tudor should have either rivet or do away with them.

Yes, with all the attention on the much more expensive new Rolex Sub, maybe BB58s will be easier to find ... or not! I've heard others who are not happy with the rivets, but I don't quite understand what the problem is. Is this an unusual design where scr...

and I find the aluminium bezel more alluring compared to a ceramic bezel. Comparing the wrist shots that I have taken recently, the BB58 is most pleasing to the eyes.
In my opinion

Tudor managed well with BB58. They look nice and have in-house movement. Whether they are available immediately in the shop or must the watch be ordered you get it In any case rather soon.
No question an appealing piece.

For me, the 39mm is also a sweet spot. And the vintage inspired styling is also a big plus. What I’ve found with Tudor previously, and this is what is holding me back on the 58 for the last few years, is that given the choice I always chose the big brothe...
Jay, you might feel differently for the BB58...

When it comes to Pelagos or BB58, I will always choose the latter. In my opinion, the Pelagos tried too hard to be a modern Rolex Sub alternative, the bezel looks a bit too beefy with respect to the dial. Ignoring the LHD, the other 2 options of matt blac...

How loose do you wear the watch? Looks like you can get 2 fingers in between your wrist and bracelet.
Nice catch! You have sharp eyes!

My partner and I take turn to wear the BB58 interchangeably, so I would have a habit of resizing it by 1 link every month. She’s having a 5.75” wrist, mine is 6.25”. It’s her turn this month and I felt lazy to add 1 link just to take the photo, hence I to...
