Rolex GMT MASTER 6542 / Tudor Black Bay GMT.

The original, and the Grand Son.

Rolex 6542.

Tudor Black Bay GMT:

Ok, the case of the Tudor is thicker and bigger, the insert is made in aluminium rather than the bakelite of the mother of all GMT MASTER, the indices are circles on the Tudor, and the crown is bigger, plus the cyclop magnifying the date is not there anymore...

BUT the spirit is here. The absence of crown guards give some sensuality to the Tudor, as it was the case for the 6542.

And the Tudor, despite the fact that both of these watches share the same spirit, has its own personality, with something which is very dear to Tudor, the snow flake hands.

A watch which I want to see in the flesh, the Tudor, but which already pleases me a lot...39 mm case would have been more interesting for me than this 41 mm case, but I sense it is not a deal breaker for me.

Best,

Nicolas

Tudor Black Bay GMT is more modern and chic yet also more period transcedent compare to new Rolex GMT Master II

That 6542... ooh la la 😍😍😍

No CG & the bakelite are some of the features that make this reference so special, IMHO 😊 The Tudor GMT is a very nice piece. But the size (diameter & thickness) might not suit me 😓😓 Cheers

+1 [nt]

I had never noticed the chapter ting on the Tudor Black Bay GMT. It was when you said the comparison og thr gmt Ii should be with the 1675 not 6542 that is when i noticed the chapter ring. The 6542 is a killer for sure. Bill
