Rolex collecting 101. Rolex 5513 and Rolex 1675. The base case.
If you’re just starting out with Rolex collecting the Rolex 5513 and the Rolex 1675 are the base case and your cornerstone to start your collection. Basically taking these two models with Matt Dilals you will be in a great place to your starter collection of vintage Rolex. Obviously don’t have to collect both right away but starting with either one will help you to realize whether vintage Rolex is right for you.
The Rolex 5513 below is from around 1967 wild Rolex 1675 is from around 1968 would make some great birth your watches for vintage Rolex collectors.

Agreed and that was how It went for me.

5512/13 Matte Dial was the first vintage Rolex I lusted after.
This was maybe 15 years or so ago. I never found one but instead picked up a 16750 (quickset date was important to me back then). I still have the GMT and I still want a 5512/13! Essential Rolex.
The Rolex 16750 is a perfect watch to represent the 1675 group.
It is on the outer limits of vintage Rolex but a solid vintage Rolex watch. Painted index markers or circle. The plexi and the lug holes put it solidly in with the classics.

5513 and 1675 are the essential base collection in my opinion .... and yours are in great condition !! My contribution : 69 .... And 9 years after .... ...
The Rolex 5512 is more rare than the 5513.
At the time they looked very similar so buyer opted for the less expensive 5513.
