Platinum Bezel Durability
May 21, 2019,20:18 PM
Hello community, I’m considering getting a 116622 Yachtmaster blue dial. I’m looking to put it through normal use (not a safe queen but not in a war zone). One thing that’s dissuading me from getting one (as opposed to an all-steel or ceramic bezel model) is the potential for the platinum bezel to look horrible from wear. Whereas, for example, aluminum Sub bezels often look great with wear, I’ve seen pictures of Yachtmaster bezel wear and it doesn’t look good at all.
Does anyone have any experience with the wear on their Yachtmaster bezels, whether damage to the raised markers, unsightly wear on the relief portions, etc.? Can anyone with an older one tell me how it’s held up?

After 12 years, does yours show any wear? Does it have the “dark spots” that other owners have reported?
