Occasionally, We are Rewarded by Lady Luck . . .
Even on Friday the 13th! Three weeks ago, a last minute change with my client provided an opportunity to visit Miami again. I visited last November and finally had the opportunity to see a Tudor Heritage Black Bay Fifty Eight in the flesh for the first time. Unfortunately, she was spoken for. But, an AD was able to secure a BB58 for me just 16 days later! I decided to wear it for my trip:
On my last full day in Miami, I headed to the AD that help me obtain this beauty. My plan was to thank them, grab some dinner and then head back to the hotel to pack. Before entering, I walked around the outside of the AD to peak at their window displays. Well, lo and behold, I saw this;
It was the Tudor Heritage Black Bay GMT, which was the first time I ever saw one in an AD. Yet, like the BB58, this was officially announced on 21 March 2018! So, this was 2 trips to Miami and both times I was finally able to see pieces in the flesh for the first time.
As I tried it on, there was an explosion of conflicting thoughts and emotions going through my head. Initially, I was in disbelief. Now, I have been after the Rolex Pepsi GMT, not the BB GMT. But, it was simply stunning on the wrist. Then, I decided to take it to the next level and have the bracelet sized - big mistake!
So, yes, I “convinced” myself that this visit occurred for a reason and decided to take the plunge. Yesterday, because of my travel schedule and some minor glitches, she finally landed:
