I join you with an image of Taipei 101 during a typhoon except that it is missing a key feature....no Rolex watch!
Rolex from the 1970s is the 'golden era'.
Developed enough to be reliable and popular in the late jet age, but not yet at the super hype phase.
I had a 1971 military Rolex from a British SBS unit. I got it after a Rolex service when it was 31 years old. In those days, I only had the BBC World Service Sunday noon time signal to check precision and it was ZERO seconds deviance for three Sundays in a row. On the 4th Sunday (1 month), maybe it was out by +0.5 seconds, by ear!
Amazing huh? It was mostly on a winder as I rarely wore it (didn't like the NATO strap).
When I grow up, I want a watch like yours....
Regards,
MTF
