Mostel, some thoughts about the 116509

 


I don't own it, but I considered it a lot, some times ago...
So I tried it at least ten times!
In the 2 colors of dial, silver and grey anthracite...
The 1st thing is that the whole watch being in gold, yes, the weight is important...
Too Heavy? Don't think so, but heavy.
It's up to you to see if it's too heavy for you.
The 2d thing is that YES this is a beautiful Daytona.
Between the 2 dials, I'd say that the silver one is more spectacular, and the Grey Antrhracite
is more dressy, discrete.
But I think that the grey anthracite is a better choice as with the silver one you have some risks
to get tired of it, IMHO.
Personnaly, I own the SS 116520 with the Black Dial, and happy with.
But I passed on the 116509 to now consider the WG with the météorite dial.More original, less heavy, and
perfect with a nice strap, not the original one, but a nice croc, or a tan one...customized.

Just curious if this watch is as satisfying to own as it is to look at in pictures. I've heard it's very heavy--in a good way? Is it the kind of watch you're really wearing? OR does it feel too special, being gold, to really WEAR. Any input appreciated. /...

a nice croc, or a tan one...customized You crazy Paneristi and your straps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I agree with your comments and IMHO the main interest of the 116509 is the amazing dial(s) with red outer chapter ring and matching red hands...Brr... 

I think the 116509 is the nicest version of the Daytona...

The red markers and hands really show up on the silver dial. I think they blend more with the gray/black dial. The meteorite dial is very nice, but not as bold and legible as the silver dial. For my old eyes, the silver is the way to go. And it is heavy, ...

I love this watch! Now the decision.... For me it's the silver dial, I love those smoke-black numerals, the whole watch brings out the kid in me. The circular layout, the red touches, It has a "Joie de vivre". BTW, two things happened to send me over the ...
