You have too many beautiful avant-garde pieces in your collection to have purely conservative taste. Are your spectacular Greubel Forsey and De Bethune pieces consistent with conservative taste?
So I don't actually believe your watch tastes are always as conservative as you say, but I think there are times - like the occasion you just mentioned - where it’s important to you to be seen as being conservative. That’s not quite the same thing 😀
So I say come to the dark side, embrace your wild side that loves this blinged-out Rolex, wear it often (outside of the house!) and to hell with what anyone else thinks.

Actually I am quite “taken” with it. I love gemstones and always have. Not necessarily to wear but to admire and look at. So this watch “excites” me in that regard.
I’m pretty conservative and may not ever wear it; but I’ll look at it a lot and appreciate the beautiful gems and the workmanship.
