Your comments on building good relationships with ADs are spot on. I started to do better recently. When I began watch collecting, I bought quite a few watches when I traveled on business trips. Although I got better prices from these ADs, it was not good for building long term relationships. I now have started to build a relationship with a local Rolex boutique. I have bought a submariner no date and have the DJ green palm on order with them. I recently introduced my colleague who got promotion and would like to get a Rolex as a milestone piece, the salesperson at the boutique was very appreciative. I see the boutique really want to expand customer base.
When I placed the special order for the DJ green palm in early June, I was told that I might get it in July. Now the boutique did not know when they may get it. We learn to be patient in life with watch collecting. Look on the bright side, we spend money less quickly this way
