It's for you right?
For you Ed, considering your collection, I'd go for the green Milgauss. That's the one I'd go for. It just feels more special to me.
Remember those A. Silberstein watches with their funky hands and dials? This Milgauss has the funky lightning bolt hand, but in a conservative case (but that case has a strange crystal). It's an ultimate collection of paradoxes that screams young at heart.
That AP Royal Oak Offshore Diver is compelling as well. What version were you considering? I actually like the normal steel version myself. I haven't seen the latest forged carbon nor PVD steel with orange accents versions yet.
And might I complicate things by suggesting a new watch that I just recently saw in the flesh myself... The Blancpain Bathyscaphe has a beautifully finished movement and in the blackened titanium with the green nato strap, it looks killer. May not be your style, but just something I like that also fits the bill.
And while I'm at it. You know I like the A. Lange & Soehne 1815 40MM in white gold with blued hands. Not really a sports watch, but one of our users puts it on a Nato strap and it looks pretty cool.
