What is the best dollar-to-enjoyment watch out there?

It depends on socio-economic factors and psychographics.

Positive and negative reinforcements of a persons micro and macro habitat. To a salarymen, his ideal piece may be his bosses Nautilus, but he simply cannot one-up his boss who could bring suffering and so he sticks to an Omega. Similarly, a creative could get carried away with artistic expression, and get positive reinforcement for something quite flamboyant or loud.

To me, my top 10 dollar-to-enjoyment watches are:

1) Tudor blackbay red, green, black or blue - really fuss free, easy to repolish with a kitchen scouring pad
2) GS hi-beat (many models in this range) - buttery finish and stealthy - much like how an Arab lady wears ultra luxury under her hijab (only she appreciate it privately)
3) Rolex yachtmaster (any variation) - gorgeous memories of sun-tanning in Greece
4) JLC Memovox Polaris - the shock of hearing the loud school bells. Is it time for recess?
5) Glashutte Original SeaQ - something so complete about the design, I imagine Jacques Cousteau being filmed diving in old film wearing this
6) Blancpain FF bathyscaphe on an X71 bracelet - same as (5)
7) Omega Aqua Terra - it’s everything I need, tidily packaged and capable of being abused by water, shock, and magnets. Easy to polish too scratches too
8) Longines legend diver - I rmb the purist community were mostly united on this piece. Heritage, faithful vintage cues, and excellent value
9) UN maxi marine divers (older models) - i imagine how a perfect summer would be spear diving, swimming with this on my wrist with my Russian buddies. A hint of mystery here
10) Omega speedmaster manual wound versions - not that I’m going to the moon, but chronographs are cool. And the design was excellent enough for NASA. Fool proof.

From this list, what do we see in common? Waterproof and fuss-free designs, at least in my mind.

I am curious to see how the community thinks about it too.

Maybe an Aqua Terra. Maybe a Tudor blackbay 36 or a GS Hi-beat too. I always found the Explorer 1 to be very beautiful, but never was enthralled by it so much as to buy it with or without the price hike.

The cost/value equation works pretty well with that piece... a very subjective statement however.
