To answer some questions, here are some more information and thoughts on the watch.
I have made the trade with a very good collector friend of mine. He has got my beloved Tudor Submariner 7928 which is one the very few pieces with square crown guards. So we traded one super special and rare piece against the other. Both watches are in the same very good overall condition and so we both are happy. The trade is final and not only temporary.
The dial on this 6238 is really special and I haven’t seen another one like this so far. It is not only missing the anti-magnetic writing, but also the „Oyster“ underneath the crown. All this plus the lack of a tacky-scale and the big sized sub-dials is giving the clean look to the dial which I really love. As the cream on the cake the dial has got a blueish hue to it which can’t be catched by a camera very well.
I assume this dial is one of the very last dial versions - if not THE last dial version- of the old style dials before the change to the silver/ black dials with baton hands and markers.
The serial of the watch is 964xxx which is dating it to 1963 and is accidentally making it a birth-year-watch for me, lol. The caliber 72B is marked with ROW which implies that the watch had been exported to the US or the Americas.

The only similar 6238 dial that I know is also from 1963, has the same blue sweep and subdial hands, has developed a similar warm patina for the lume dots but has the antimagnetic marking and most important no underline (the killing detail that makes the ...
Just beautiful!
