I meant to write discussion instead of discussing but nowadays things have a mind of their own. Apologies.
I like the older GMT, for instance, because of the slimmer case and shape in general. But the new hands in that particular watch, the one in the picture, look somewhat out of place. However, I tend towards function rather than form. In any case, I’ll enjoy the journey towards an old GMT that will warm my heart.

insisting on changing everything out and that’s when I started using very competent watchmakers in Manhattan.
Plus they won’t even touch
it if it’s over 25 or 30 years old. I forget exactly whether it’s 25 or 30 years because it was so long ago since I collected vintage.
There is a chance that they won’t.

Visible alterations are a non-starter for me
The superluminova hands on this example would drive me nuts… going vintage has its limits. I would prefer well done relumed tritium hands, but you have to know where to go to get it done right
Perusing various CPO sites this does indeed appear to be universal. Non matching looks cool on a Panerai, not so much on most Rolex.
