Even it being more expensive, I liked much better its case, look at it from the side, the curves are sublime,

I am wondering why this

 By: Jad : April 10th, 2019-00:42
one is not having as much hype as other SS watches with blue dial? The case is sublime, sunburst blue dial with red accents to die for, perfect size, robust movement (the most precise I ever had, compared to other chronometers) and a remarkable Platinum b...

I think because

The price is so much more than a submariner and the bezel Is platinum and scratches easy. I forget but the claps is not the same a sub right? Personally I like this watch.

Ah, the old platinum bezel chestnut! On the Mohs scale of hardness ...

... platinum is 4.0-4.5, the same as steel* and doesn't scratch particularly easily. The Y-M shares the same clasp (and depth rating!) as the Sub, but has a unique case that is - in Jocke's and my opinions - more comfortable. His photo essay is very revea...

Agree with you

Bezel scratches but not easily and the design makes it difficult to notice if there are any scratches, as for the clasp the new one is excellent together with integrated extension link as in the photos ...

Sometimes you just have to ignore the “market”

The blue Yacht Master is by far my favorite summer watch, may be besides the AP Diver Chrono in blue 😎👍🏻

Thanks for your comment

This is how it looks with the summer outfit ...

Totally agree. An eye catching Rolex and so original. Here is my Rolex Yacht-Master 16222 ( platinum bezel and dial ).

I was stupid enough to let it go in 2004 or 2005, bought another one in 2007! Best, Nicolas ...

Thank you Nicolas

For your kind words and sharing, I do find the platinum dial great and understated, and fully agree with you.

This 16222 is

definitely on my wishlist. I hope to find an unworn piece of this YM. Perhaps... Best, Thomas

Thanks a lot! 🙏

I will definitely need it. Best, Thomas

Nico, this is a beautiful watch.

I have just got turned onto these (I am not much of a fan of the YM2). I love the version you are wearing in this photo, as well as the rhodium with baby blue seconds hand. And at 40mm, this is the perfect size Rolex for my wrist (the Milgauss fits me per...

I’m sure I would not regret it, Nico...

 By: Watch_This : May 25th, 2019-07:02
..though I may regret the conversation I would have to have with my wife for buying another watch :/ Btw... Would there be any reason to lean towards the older reference 16622 vs. the newer 116622? Main difference I see is the clasp. I would like to hear ...

As this post has recently been resurrected..

I thought I would show the restraint I have had in holding off on any purchases for a while /: This thing is beautiful, and it is still a buyer’s market. Cheers Drew ...

Hi Nico. The reference should read as 16622?

 By: KamalRostov : October 2nd, 2019-09:18
Just wondering if it’s a typo...

16622 is the older model that is most seen, I believe... It is the reference I own...

 By: Watch_This : October 16th, 2019-05:59
116622 is the newer model. Primary difference from what I see is the clasp (116622 has micro-adjust), but otherwise virtually identical

No apologies necessary Nico 🙏🏻

I tried searching 16222 in the web! Silly me 🤣

The watch is a very strong offering

 By: Hahnpaulo : April 10th, 2019-04:55
but I feel many customers are confused with a tool watch meant to be used in watersports with such a modest water resistance. Moreover the YM ends up competing with Subs and SDs and I believe dealers tend to advice those to clients as better value holders...

Personally I preferred it to the submariner

See you are enjoying a fantastic sunny day! The YM seems a perfect watch to enjoy the nice weather. Thanks for sharing

I love mine

and do not care what the ’market’ think. Best, Kari

Fully agree [nt]

I think the YM is a hidden gem in the Rolex range.

My favorite version is the original grey dial Ref 16222, love the grainy quality and the stealthy look. Your blue-dialed one is a nice and special specimen. Wear it with pleasure, best on your yacht. Daniel

Thanks Dani for your kind words

 By: Jad : April 10th, 2019-06:06
Hopefully one day I will be able to wear it on “my” yacht, maybe if I stop spending on watches .

First of all

 By: MTR : April 10th, 2019-14:19
many congrats for this fantastic looking, versatile and - for me - timeless YM! Forget the market. Too often this market is simply ... stupid and bare marketing driven. Many buyers are oriented to what might be a “good value” in the future and forget to ....

This is an absolute beauty
