Agree that this reference remains a “sleeper” in the catalogue.

I own both the 216570 and the 126710blnr, and I must say that the 216570 finds more wrist time than the Batman, which was not my expectation going into things.
I find that the Exp II, despite the larger case size, wears lower on the wrist, and has more of an everyday driver vibe. In light of the modern proportions the Exp II also feels more akin to a tool watch. The Freccione 24-hour hand is a great homage to the 1655, and as such caries a minor vintage element.
The GMT-II is beautiful in its own right, but carries much more of Rolex’s modern luxury-first, jewelry-forward air.
Particularly in light of COVID where for me, personally, there’s less of a need to track three time zones, I find that the 216570 is the go to piece.
Also pairs incredibly well with alternatives to the brushed bracelet in my opinion!

Hands on review of the Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial

I wished to come back to the Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial, which is certainly not a new model, but which still has a special place in the Rolex catalog almost 10 years after its presentation at the 2011 edition of Baselworld. In fact, there are two...
In hindsight, it became a classic

I remembered when it was released, I held the sentiment that the piece did not need an upsizing. Now in hindsight, I have come to like this piece quite a lot. I much prefer this to the GMTmaster as the steel bezel looks less busy and more suited to the mo...
Thanks for this excellent review

Was not hunting this watch but I’ve just bought one at AD while I was looking for the discontinued MG without GV. The more I wear I the more I like it.... A special place in SS models. Bigger than others, coolest with Orange hand and different dial. Thank...

Great review on a great watch

Could not agree more. The Exp II is a fantastic timepiece and the price delta between it and the Subs and GMTs is disproportionate; this makes it excellent value. Huge fan.
