The reaction to this watch reminds me of the reaction to the DeepSea when introduced in 2008. It was a love at first sight for a wearable watch, a masterpiece of engineering. I got the black one then, even run the NY marathon that year with the DSSD on my wrist (3:06:20) and few years later added the JC which I wear daily while swimming open water (I change watches 2-3 a day, that's the swimming watch).
Fast forward almost 15 years and we are in the same realm again. A Masterpiece!. it's not only the depth that other companies can imitate, it's the WAY it is executed giving you the feel of enablement, that whatever you do with it it will not fail you.
Add to that the Ti which I love, one of my bicycles are custom made Ti Seven Odonata with a Campagnolo Record set. And I'm "on the list" for the non-existent 42mm YM in Ti (which BTW in its WG version fits me wonderfully).
Now for its designated wearability. One doesn't need to be a diver to wear it, otherwise no one should buy a Milgauss, a Daytona or a 300m Submariner. Just get a watch with 100m rating and it will do the job. We buy watches that we love, that makes us happy, and with that in mind if you like a watch buy it regardless of its intended use.
As for the size (height), to each his own and many of us WIS are prisoners of our minds and our community mindset. It's too small, too big, too weird, too flat, too shiny, too tall etc. You (someone) should buy what you like and what YOU think works for you. The DSC is no different from a Leopard Daytona in its boldness, both are talking pieces and I think we will see it in “spotted “section.
Last, for me, as long as Charlize Theron looks sexy with her Deep Sea, I’m OK with The Deep Sea Challenge on a men's wrist…
