I recently borrowed a diamond watch from H. Moser. You can read my review below.
Point being is that it really depends on who you are and what the occasion is. If you're a movie star or a music star, you can rock this watch all the time! As I have an acquaintance who is a professional musician and a big famous star who does wear a diamond watch often and I find it perfectly appropriate. If you're just a normal person like myself... It might be too much.

I'm not a diamond man but that's a question of taste. What I can say is that if you keep asking yourself whether it was a good idea to get this watch each time you look at it, it's probably not a good idea to pull the trigger. Just my two carats Nicolas

When i fell in instant love with a watch that my wife would love to have... some bling bling is appropriate in some situations. not always but why not some times? ;-) ...

The day date is about all the fantasy around the « président » attributes. There is a part of you that says : go for it while you can enjoy it !! Guilty pleasure and how others feel about it... do not mind! But we know how hard it is not to unfortunately....

A diamond watch is definitely something a little different! I still feel that I have to have a special occasion for that!
