Rolex solution to empty display cases?

 By: Clueless_Collector : September 14th, 2019-18:54
Just drop by AD today and situation is the same, lots of empty slots but guess what, a wavy beige color platform is used to cover them, after re-arranging and consolidate them into fewer cases. The design is similar to the Rolex wavy pattern of the green ...

Well said!

No mirrors, these are real inventory 😉 [nt]

Even better solution in the very near future for Rolex ADs

 By: reintitan : September 14th, 2019-19:22
Whenever I visit the Temple St night market in Hong Kong there's always a tiny table or two with a shady looking guy sitting on a cheap folding chair and a binder full of photographs of "AAA Rolex" watches. The ADs could save money on their lease space an...

Demand from gray market sellers? :)

 By: 中野れい : September 14th, 2019-23:04
I have seen MANY MANY 'desirable' sports Rolex in grey market seller's windows but no one buys like crazy. Too much mark up? 😀

It could well be owners flipping or serial flippers after their new found wealth opportunity....

Just like the famous London Taxi driver showcase here by our Mod Miranda

All brand new... never worn

 By: 中野れい : September 15th, 2019-00:01
Of course some used ones too. But now I feel most just enjoy looking at their bank balance growing rather than their watch collection growing It's always 'look at how much $$$ my 1675 is worth now' rather than 'look at how beautiful my 1675 is'

Haha! Correct :) (nt)

I believe this is (often) the case for the AD, in most instances they actually find themselves in a very difficult position now, especially when acting honestly...

Who I find entirely inexcusable with their artificial shortages here is Rolex, who are not even strategizing smart in my opinion -- chances they'll lose this phony game and customers will get bored with it in the long run seem pretty high to me ;-)

That’s hilarious!

 By: Bounce781 : September 14th, 2019-19:57
The only way this madness stops is if the watch buying public collectively gets its mind back and remembers that there is a world of steel sports watches out there (from UN Marine, to GP Laureato, to Hublot, to Chopard Mille Miglia, GO Evolution to JLC Ma...

This won’t stop if auction houses keep breaking records for Rolexes ...

We know there is way too much money now in the world now.

I can’t wait

 By: ripper444 : September 14th, 2019-20:23
For the day the economy turns and everyone starts flooding the market with all the watches they horded as investments ... Including the AD’s that have stock piles of sports models In the safe! Prices will tank and we will all be able to pickup pieces for ...

Will you pick them up when economy turns?

 By: Clueless_Collector : September 14th, 2019-22:11
I’m afraid we will all sit out and wait and not care about watches by then.

One hundred percent honesty here

 By: ripper444 : September 15th, 2019-06:56
Since 2014 until now I have at one point or another owned every modern sports Rolex from the hulk to Batman etc.....I sold and or traded up to other brands as the prices started to change. So to me Rolex is a commodity. Once the prices stabilize I will mo...

Waiting for that with cash in hand now

Then we party...

All scarce watches are put in a safe. And SS scarce models instantly appear when you buy a DD or a gold Submariner.

 By: Dmitriy : September 14th, 2019-21:10
If I buy DD, I will not need a DJ41 with a blue dial. Or, if I buy a Submariner WG, then why do I need a Submariner SS? ... Yes, and Rolex personally ceased to interest me. Somehow fell out of interest. More occupied by Blancpain (Fifty Fathoms), Omega (h...

What goes up will come down, that’s history lesson...

I also think I have enough Rolexes for now

Dealers get inventory

 By: ripper444 : September 15th, 2019-07:03
Then for the average customer they say sorry waiting list or just flat out say no. They use these watches in trade deals or to special customers that have bought random two tones and other watches before. That’s why I can’t wait to see what happens when t...

That's not going to happen anytime soon, or ever, and they know it.

 By: VMM : September 15th, 2019-02:10
Being a Rolex dealer is like winning the lottery. If markets fall down, nothing will matter then, until then, they have the POWER. Speculation has an expiration date, we've seen it many times, taller towers have fallen. Vte

I prefer Rolex approach than Patek’s

 By: mahesh : September 15th, 2019-05:14
Sorry I defer with your opinions but factually no one gets the supply here...better than fueling the price ! Jus saying...5711 above a PC & yet a boutique can’t enroll people - absurd.

All right, let's play a game then...

... Imagine you can pay no more than 10000€ for a new sport watch. You get to your favorite watch shop and take a look at all the shelves from the street. On one of them you see three sport watches: One has reference number 126710BLNR and costs 8550€. Ano...
