I wonder about the UAE Air Force story...
Nov 30, 2019,07:08 AM
I don't follow the question of Rolex bezel insert authenticity too closely, but I do recall (from a debate elsewhere about the "blueberry" authenticity) that Rolex may have made at least a small batch of all-blue 1675 inserts for watches that were sold to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force and have the UAE AF logo on the dial. That seemed to be the consensus among knowledgeable folks in that venue. A Google image search shows several of these UAE 1675 watches with all-blue bezel inserts. They don't appear to be photos of the same watch, but I didn't look too closely. It wouldn't surprise me if Rolex made some all-blue inserts for "special order" customers such as UAE AF, and then if someone other than Rolex later produced a batch of aftermarket "blueberry" bezel inserts that added considerable confusion to the issue. But I'm definitely no expert in this area!

A letter From Rolex Suisse about Blueberry Insert
By: americano : November 30th, 2019-02:43
In the letter Rolex Geneva denies the excistence of the blueberry insert . I never believed in blueberry insert. I studied auction catalogs from the big 4 auction houses they where first spinned as coming from Cartier around 2004 and from Tiffanys. later ...

Blueberry insert, all red GMT hand...
By: 中野れい : November 30th, 2019-03:19
Just to make them 'special' (therefore, expensive) These are nothing more than franken GMT Masters? Also, I really wonder if 'fresh from factory' Subs/GMTs are real or another franken? Thanks for the info, Nicolas!
This is an organized maffia
By: americano : November 30th, 2019-03:41
If you trace the historiy of who sold most blueberry inserts , are some todays big dealers if you also realize they are organized , that they endorse each others junk , that they have blogs who spin fake stories . And with al the earnings they made sellin...
Vintage Rolex is a very big business
By: 中野れい : November 30th, 2019-08:50
And collectors seem willing to pay a lot nowadays (rare! Will go up in price --> investment), so they got screwed 😝 Thanks for your view

Can anyone translate the OP's letter? Tnx
I’ve followed some of this debate from afar.
By: Jay (Eire) : November 30th, 2019-06:22
I always thought it would be extremely unlikely for Rolex to comment directly, officially. For those of you who are vintage Rolex collectors how unusual is it for Rolex to provide this letter? If it’s very unusual, then why would they do it in this instan...

Never Trust Auction Houses
By: patrick_y : November 30th, 2019-07:45
Their experts are capable of making mistakes and frankly auction houses make up terms to explain anomalies that are sometimes modifications. Paraphrasing, "I'm pleased to present an exceptionally rare version Mark 2.5 of this rare watch." They're exceptio...
Some Rolex Blueberry pictures for context. And some facts.
By: Bill : November 30th, 2019-08:28
I had one a long time ago. There was always rumors about cartier having these and mysteriously would show up. But then the correct combination was having a full red hand which it self is controversial. So putting the controversies together. Also there was...
So what now for those dealers who lent credibility to this blue insert?
By: Jay (Eire) : November 30th, 2019-12:03
Without the support of the knowledge base (so many rely on dealers as the knowledge base) these inserts presumably would never have gained traction like they did. I know there were many skeptics out there who for a long time were vocal about these inserts...
This is not about collecting anymore
By: americano : November 30th, 2019-13:57
Speaking from point of few from the dealers side this is about greed. There are clearly a group of malicious dealers who work in organized matter , endorse each others frankwatches online , sell fake spare parts . . Even when blueberry came into the limel...
