Rolex

The Submariner on the other hand was a recent purchase in the grey market at a steal. I bought it right before the lockdowns began at around $26,000 from a store I chanced upon in a mall. I didn’t even know what it was when I first saw it and found the metal to be discolored only to find out it was Rolex’s grey gold. The watch was sitting on the window for a year before I decided to buy it and the dealer immediately offered to send it into Rolex for verification which took about 2 weeks. Watch came without box and papers. 

I also wanted to share the best watch accessory I’ve purchased thus far. I know that watches are meant to be worn and normal wear and tear on the metal is inevitable. But like most watch enthusiast, I still wear my watches with some caution and often find it hard to put a watch down on a hard surface when taking it off my wrist. Before the watch stand, I would either put the watch down on an envelope or in a padded watch roll which wasn’t a chore at all because let’s admit it, nothing watch related is ever an inconvenience. That was until The Watch Stand began advertising on Facebook and got my attention. It was a product that I never knew I needed. The only problem was that the first release only had enough room for 1 watch on the right or 2 watches cramped together and the other side significantly more narrow which could probably be used for bracelets or a necklace kept on a double loop. But I usually have 2 watches out of my watch box as rotation so the single watch stand didn’t quite fit the bill - until they came up with the Duo. Also available in exotic leather, a gold colored metal rod, different painted designs on the leather and stone bases, I still find the black and white to be the best. A neutral combination to match the variety of watches that will find its way on the stand.
