They can source the watch or you can send yours. I chose for them to do it, since it's a hassle to ship my watch to them with all the taxes applicable and paperwork.

Artisans de Geneve has arrived...

 By: perregaux1 : December 2nd, 2020-05:37
Guys, see live photos of the watch which arrived today. Like i said in the other posting, the green looks a bit darker than expected. But since my request was to be similar to Hulk's green and when comparing the two they look similar, I cannot really comp...

It's a unique piece indeed!

I had to look up the meaning of the inscription at the back though..

Really superb! Big congrats and thanks for sharing

Love everything about this watch. The inscription. The display caseback. The movement decoration. The dial. The pump pushers. The dial color. Inshallah you will wear it in the best of health

It looks nice

The resemblance of the Hulk's color is succesful. The see-through back case is a good addition.

Gorgeous

How does the customization work sir? You provided them with the base watch or they source for you? Thinking of a simple customization for a DayDate.

Follow this thread for the answer...

Thanks.

Sent them an email. Let’s see if they accept my project. It’s for my 50th birthday, about six years from now. So not in a rush. Though with the rising prices might make sense to do it now.

Remarkable Rolex

You post some time ago, you ordered a custom Rolex. Thanks for sharing the results. A remarkable Daytona. When i see your Daytona, do they deliver a Hulk with a transparant back? But first i must reform my watch rules, which commands a watch which brand i...

A beautiful iteration! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉

Modern construction and vintage Rolex styling go very well together.

Sent you a PM. Thanks in advance

That is nice!

So it uses a Rolex movement. What about the case? Is the dial from a Rolex as well? Just changed to green?

it wasn't 100% clear

 By: perregaux1 : December 2nd, 2020-17:55
The dial is probably not from Rolex, but the case and movement are definitely Rolex parts. The rotor and bezel are definitely not.

I wonder if they get a license from Rolex to use their trademarks (name and crown)

 By: descartes1 : December 3rd, 2020-07:10
I’m sure they must have to as a matter of law, but I’m surprised Rolex would give such a license, even to a company like AdG which clearly makes a nice product.

It's possible Rolex hasn't given them any license...

Bamford operated for years without official license from Rolex until Rolex's lawyers petitioned Bamford to stop modifying Rolexes. For Rolex's lawyers, this is probably a "whack-a-mole" job. Every year a new "modification" company probably gets on their r...

I know there are legal exceptions for works of art and parodies, but here we’re talking about a commercial enterprise and series production (albeit to a small degree)

Still, the personalization is cool and I know some very big collectors and famous people have these in their collection.

Indeed...

I can't comment about the legal side. But there's definitely a desire from some people and dislike from other persons for "modified" watches. Brabus modifies cars for Mercedes-Benz, and Mercedes-Benz seems to be very happy about it. To me, it's a very sim...

I think Brabus re-badges with its own logo, probably because Mercedes makes them. (Years ago I don’t think they did this)

 By: descartes1 : December 5th, 2020-02:56
The legal standard for trademark infringement (at least in the US) is whether there is a “likelihood of confusion” with the authentic product. Re-badging addresses that, whereas the AdG product, on its face, to an ordinary consumer, appears to be a Rolex ...

Got it.

 By: patrick_y : December 3rd, 2020-13:18
I was wondering if they got a genuine Rolex dial and somehow changed it to green. The rotor and bezel are definitely remanufactured and thus not Rolex parts. The case and movement being genuine Rolex does make this a very interesting watch!

Thank you for the positive feedback

Although i must say, i personally am having mixed feelings about the green shade of the dial. I need to see it in daylight to know if i'm 100% happy about it. Also, in hindsight, I think maybe if the bezel in matching green as well would have been better....

That is wild! Congrats.

Reminds you of what you are in this world

How does it work?

 By: patrick_y : December 3rd, 2020-13:24
Do you have to supply the donor watch? I went to the Artisans De Geneve website and it doesn't say if you have to supply the donor watch. Definitely very interesting. It's kind of like buying a Brabus or Ruf modified Mercedes or Porsche vehicle.

You have the option to do either way
