L'enfant Terrible: Controversy drives future value

 By: Cookies : July 22nd, 2020-06:39
There is a piece on the current Professional Range now, which many believe is going to be a future classic. Thing is, it's not immediately likeable to many, in fact, my survey of a few die-hard WIS via telephone today yielded controversy, doubt, and confu...

Yes, it smells like one

They may discontinue this soon. So...it may be a last call for something 1/2 the price of the Mokarran. Possible short production time (2016-present) Disappointing association with a bankrupt project that had big expectations More shock when a 9-9 dial er...

Yes, that drives disappointment

I had high hopes in the Bloodhound SSC project. Now it is gone.

A Problem Child, the Air King? I really like this nickname.

It is a watch with character, the child of and Explorer, a Milgauss and a Pilot watch, a watch built for Adventure, the Air King. A very inspired and inspiring watch. If you don't understand it, you may not like it. A future classic? Yes, I do think so! B...

Another nickname: The Bloodhound

A workhorse breed - of noble blood, brave, talented, and downright ugly (but lovably so). When it barks, it sounds like a booming subwoofer with the bass on maximum. Trivia: Sniffing evidence from a bloodhound was once admissible in court. Source: Brittan...

I'm not a modern Air-King fan. I don't dislike it but wouldn't buy one for myself.

If it were just like the Bloodhound clock I'd like it a lot more. Primary function being a chronograph and time is secondary. This would add substance to the "Air" part of it's namesake drawing from the B dial pilot watches with focus of importance on min...

A friend of mine had it as his only watch. I regret dissing him for getting it, when I recommended a kermit to him (10 years ago). Now in hindsight, I lost...some things look better with time. This song plays in my head now when I think about it: My my At...

Very nice examples.

Similar to standard oyster perpetuals but with extra visual fun factor. Rolex has some playfulness in them but tend to hold it back much of the time.

Agreed. [nt]
