Value retention steel. Comfort the oyster flex.  Best watch in my view the 18kt watch with the rubber  strap. Will be worth the steel never, but what are you looking for?

Daytona vs Daytona

 By: Euroasianstar : December 12th, 2018-11:17
Fellow Rolex friends: Question for you: my uncle is currently choosing between a semi vintage Zenith Daytona 16520 and a brand new white gold Daytona on an Oysterflex. Both full set. Both within the same price range. He asked me which to choose if only on...

For me it’s a No brainer.

White gold all day long. M.

Sorry I saw 116520 not 16520.

Did you edit your post. If not then 16520 would be my choice as well. Sorry for confusion. M.

The watch on the wrist blue shirt is Rolex Zenith Daytona 16520 and I think that would be my choice.

It is a model that has a lot of history having the Zenith movement. The prices are climbing on the Zenith models. For a much lower price point you can get the Rolex Daytona 116520 housing the Rolex movement vs Zenith. Just my 2 cents. ...

I will join you in Rolex Daytona Zenith 16520 shot.

The bracelet is more versatile.

16520 no question.

Note that “beater” and “value retention” don’t necessarily work together. I think for the 16520 if relatively clean now but worn daily as a beater over time will impact value of course. But it’s still my choice!

Beater to us is not thrashing the watch.

But a watch you can wear daily. So it will hold its value all day.

I agree with others - I'd take the 16520.

I tried to get one when they were new. Glad the new SS ceramic versions have a similar look.

i would go for the 16520 as well. now if he can get the daytona now in steel, i think that will also hold its value in the long run. i would prefer stainless models in rolex over WG

No not Porcelain.

 By: Miles_151 : December 14th, 2018-00:55
All 16520 white dials have black sub dial surrounds. Porcelain dials were the very first run of the 16520 in 1988 R7 serials and the dial looks like Porcelain. The manufacturing process of this dial was different to all other 16520. The reason for this is...

You are very welcome.

But you are right to have a Porcelain dial 16520 on your radar Best. Miles.
