Tudor 7966 on a Bünd strap

 By: renerod : October 27th, 2020-09:02
I had done the bünd back piece years ago, and of course the strap, for another watch. But didn\'t work and kept it in the drawer. Yesterday I found and tried it on the Tudor because the leather color looks very similar to that of the strap currently on th...

Entiendo que es un poco contradictorio amigo Nico

Such as your BB58 which I hope to get one for myself some day. Best. René

Well,

I can only say that the 79030 (BB 58) is an amazing diving and everyday watch. Still, we must bear in mind that it is one of those revival, reedition, re(something) watches also. At every glance it takes you back to those diving watches from the fifties a...

I will take your advice into account Simone

Thank you very much. That is just what attracts me very much to the BB58, the looks of vintage divers from the golden era, with modern reliability and materials. Best. René

I love it!

I'm a huge fan of bund straps. In your case the strap and bund pad work very well together, despite not being made for each other. Yeah, the history of the bund goes back to pilots watches but I do not believe it has to be restricted to pilot watches or N...

Thank you very much for your kind comment Zeitstuck

I remember to have read somewhere that Bünd straps were made for pilots because in case of a fire in the cockpit, a watch can easily reach high temperatures as to cause severe burns to the wearers skin. Also, I have seen several adventure movies at which ...

Any good websites you recommend for bund straps?

Looking for 18mm lug width which is hard to find.

Sometime ago I bought three German Bünd straps

 By: renerod : October 28th, 2020-08:52
In 20mm, 18mm and 16mm. They are supposedly made for the military pilots of the German air force. They are very well made and supple. Let me do a quick search in the mail, and will get back to you. Also any custom strap maker will be able (in theory) to m...

There are plenty

Probably the easiest for you would be Difues on Etsy. If you want a custom bund, Rover Haven is the winner. Hodinkee has a few Newman style bund straps in their shop. Two other places I've come across are below: holbensfinewatchbands.com shop.atel...

Hello Nicetomeetyou

Here's back to you. I couldn't find the original seller I bought the strap from originally, but making a quick search on the bay there is a seller named nato-international who has the same brand as the ones I bought and they have it in 18mm. You can searc...

Thank you for taking the time! [nt]
