We are in the same camp.
36mm but with upgraded specs (bracelet, clasp, movement etc) just makes it a sports classic. I tend to think the subs etc that are >36mm are modern sports watches . Best Gatsby

Definitely sports classic for me. But this is personal. I find smaller sizes more classic.
It's my favorite Sub, and my favorite Rollie.
I find it very easy to wear, in all kinds of settings. Never bling, never in-your-face, distinctive, but still unmistakably a Submariner. Well, maybe that's for a separate thread...

I bought it for the dial, didn’t have a choice with the case which is a bit weathered.
I can understand that.
For me, it's Sub, then Explorer, then GMT. For no particular reason, it's just how I emotionally connect to these icons. But let's face it, each and every one of them is a true masterpiece in ins own right.
Love the Explorer 1 and the love keeps getting stronger!
