Rolex Daytona 116503
Sep 22, 2019,19:41 PM
I finally did it… I traded in my Rolex Anniversary Submariner and a 1964 Rolex Oyster Royal Precision for a 2016 Rolex Daytona 116503 with a white dial. I’ve been having a love/hate relationship with my Kermit (I could not stand the tuna can clasp), and have barely worn my vintage Rolex. With the astronomical demand for these models, and two-tone Rolexes getting no love, now was the time to trade in these much appreciated-in-value watches for a truly aspirational one.
I was not disappointed in this Daytona… Words and pictures cannot do it justice. The way light reflects off the golden surfaces is truly amazing. There is such a wide range of deep yellow and golden hues that only Van Gogh could completely catalogue. I am so happy with the white dial as it makes this watch completely compatible with everything from denim to Harris Tweed and more!
I have previously posted here about making such a trade and received a few “don’t do it!” comments that I respect. However, in the end, I got a beautiful watch that I love because I want to and not because I should.
Best,
Ira

I like that model and I am actually considering getting one. Enjoy it.

IMHO, your choice is far superior in visibility and beauty than a SS white dial Daytona. Bravo.
