Deepsea Challenge

I recently had the opportunity to handle the first titanium release from Rolex. Photos seen ahead of the visit had me curious, so the opportunity was most welcomed. First impression was a surprise at how wearable it felt. Not as a city dweller of course, ...

Many thanks Keks for your valuable thoughts and writeup on this new remarkable Rolex! I already expressed my admiration for this piece and the technical achievements it represents, and your pictures only strongly confirm my first impressions! ;-)

Barring a significant (and unexpected) disappointment once I see it in person, I consider the DSC, by far, one of the most interesting and groundbreaking Rolex releases in recent years! Along with the many, incremental improvements Rolex periodically offe...

haha

yes for a Ti PP I have no chance of getting there before you do! You will not be disappointed when you see the DSC in challenge, I think on the contrary you will be most impressed. I agree it is a big release and many probably do not see it for what it is...

Haha yes

Titanium is a favorite metal for me in wristwatches and one day I hope to also have a Rolex and a Patek in this metal… I already have a few titanium pieces from other makers in my box that I wear with delight (but admittedly no Seamasters in Ti)

"Challenging" to wear i guess

 By: @lberti : November 30th, 2022-11:20

Possibly

 By: keks : November 30th, 2022-11:39
Depends on the challenge though!

I couldnt think of one honestly to justify this watch 🤣

 By: @lberti : November 30th, 2022-12:05
Maybe something for the mars mission?

why not

 By: keks : November 30th, 2022-13:52
perhaps will happen soon for you so good to plan ahead

Would be exciting indeed 😁

45.5mm - 48mm. 50mm maybe a bridge too far.

perhaps

perhaps that could be the case, but we always want to tweak just a bit

Always. :))))

 By: amanico : December 1st, 2022-09:17

 By: keks : December 1st, 2022-09:19

Thank you Keks for sharing your thoughts with us

The reaction to this watch reminds me of the reaction to the DeepSea when introduced in 2008. It was a love at first sight for a wearable watch, a masterpiece of engineering. I got the black one then, even run the NY marathon that year with the DSSD on my...

thanks for sharing your love for the DSSD

 By: keks : November 30th, 2022-14:44
this is indeed a most intriguing release and I love to see so many express positive sentiment as initially I experienced so much negativity around it. btw I think Charlize would look magnificent wearing one DSC on each wrist

Agree with everything you said ...

 By: diracpoint : November 30th, 2022-22:53
so, nothing to add other than more pics of CT with DSSD ... 😀 I think I spy a Patek Aquanaut in this one ... ...

yum

 By: keks : December 1st, 2022-08:14
tasty taste

An absolute marvel!

 By: Mary Anny : November 30th, 2022-14:39
Huge indeed, but I'd like to stress that if Silvester Stallone wore a Panerai Egiziano, it would be no such a problem wearrng this Sea Dweller for most of us!

haha fair point

 By: keks : November 30th, 2022-14:45
Stallone would look great with a DCS in his next Rambo flick

Thanks for sharing your post!

 By: Mary Anny : November 30th, 2022-18:43
Thanks Fab, I'd be perfectly fine with a regular Deepsea!

Why, aren't they?😄

 By: Mary Anny : November 30th, 2022-18:59

Exactly! ;-)))

 By: FabR : November 30th, 2022-19:17

maybe it is small

 By: keks : December 1st, 2022-08:15
now that it has a bigger brother

;-)

 By: FabR : December 1st, 2022-12:24

Good point, my friend. ;)

 By: amanico : November 30th, 2022-18:04

i can sympathize with that perspective....

 By: keks : November 30th, 2022-15:28
but I think it is great to give the consumer the opportunity to own if that is the wish, nobody will be forced to buy in the end

It does suit your wrist!

 By: KCLQMULKU : November 30th, 2022-18:07
A great watch to own, but difficult for a daily wear (depending of course on one's occupation).

Well

 By: keks : November 30th, 2022-19:39
Yes it is not bad to wear but does not fit my lifestyle (fortunately for my wallet)

Hahaha

... on this gem! Wearability and comfort also caught me by surprise. That's something that has to be experienced ... can't be conveyed by pictures or words! This is my 2nd week of wearing it on a daily basis. No complaint about comfort. On the first day o...

most watches too big or too small feel just right after a little time on the wrist. I have not yet ventured this large but can imagine it feels just right after a while, perhaps only bother for me would be it might bang into walls and doors given its heig...
