My 1957 G-P 39J Gyromatic radiates about 15 µSv/hour, which is why it is rarely worn and lives in a lead-lined box. Lovely dial. Clive
You’re measuring alpha radiation

Alpha radiation is very easily blocked. It will not reach your vital organs. Won’t reach anything actually. Unless you swallow the dial. Don’t s allow the dial.
LOL!!!

Radium decays by alpha decay

It does emit a tiny amount of low energy gamma rays as well. Radium decays into radon gas which is leaking out of our watch cases. You geiger counter is detecting Alpha particles.
