It is not, but it's not unusual to get a bad result after a polish either

Overpolishing by Rolex service center? Is this acceptable?

Collected my Rolex seadweller from Rolex service center last week and to my horror after having more time to inspect the quality of service My clasp marking was shaved off….OP code , OP almost missing… very upset with this service and thought that Rolex h...

Was this a Rolex-certified service center, or Rolex’s service center?

It’s unfortunately common practice for the former, and sometimes seen with the latter. Both unacceptable. A Rolex-certified service center effectively shaved off a lug, and never informed me of the reason why. I took the watch in for movement regulation, ...

That’s horrendous!!

Do you have a pic what it looked like before service?

Seems weird that they would polish so hard right there. I actually did not think they polished inside the clasp.

You should not need to take pics

I had my 16600 Sea Dweller serviced through the Rolex service center and while they were a little aggressive trying to get the scratches out of the side of the case (it was pretty beat) it looked like they barely touched the clasp since that's not really ...

That one should have no bevel or only a tiny one at the case

but sometimes they have to made a small bevel instead of polish it too much to get rid of marks. That is a reason most of the collectors never allows any kind of polish at their watch.
