you let it soak in a bowl of any gentle dishwashing soap for about 30 minutes. I use Dawn. Then rinse with water and wipe with a handkerchief. The transformation is pretty good. I know servicing the movement is another matter completely.

If it were me, I wouldn't even touch the plexi... looks great that way IMO. The low afternoon light exaggerates the appearance of the scratches, in general it doesnt look as severe. In either case I like the rugged appearance.
