I'm not big on the idea of watches as heirlooms in general

I want my own watch, and no one else's. I'd expect my hypothetical children would feel the same.

If your next generation is not into watches....

Then the PP slogan won’t be applicable...will it affect your collection habits? I know this is a different brand but you get the point. What will happen to your collection trend? Still full speed ahead like no next generation or YOLO mentality? Hmmm.....m...

I would probably sell all my watches if my son is not into watches. [nt]

For now just buy what I like, it’s true you do only live once.

That’s logical thing to do....

Enjoy first and worry about that later and if I were to sell all, then I will be very selective. Ultimately watches are not a “Must Have” but are “Nice to Have” unless you know, that “thing” is not an object 😉

Lol....you’re a straight shooter my friend...

We’re not even touching the investment topic yet, just collecting. Their motto is passing down a family heirloom which of course is related to something precious....maybe not monetary but memories

I know and there are so many to love and like therefore I am ok to choose carefully :)

Let the next generation handle on their own.

True. [nt]

You’re a smart Dad looking at your collection, sorry your kids will get a G-shock soon Similarly, I’ll also retired to a nice island by the beach and enjoy with just a few daily beaters. Yup, we can only do this much as parents, provide them with a nice e...

Sadly, iPhones and Apple watches have

replaced watches in my kid's minds. Once I am gone they are welcome to mine, should they want any. I just hope they don't end up in an estate sale marked "Last day, everything is $5".

Worst case is $5, buy one get one free 🤣

I think you’re right too, when our eyes shut permanently, we can’t really see what’s going on and let them be, just need to raise them well.

How true! :) [nt]

That's a good thought too...

but watches are better to leave for them than our debts for sure

Yeah? 🤔🤔🤔

So we are not talking about your baby mamas? I heard about you, woman wooing and conniving mathematician, 😉😉😉

Just enjoy and not worry about the next generations.

Life is too good and too short 😉

Wise words my friend...

I’m also into such philosophy hence I try to live like no tomorrow 😬

Wow...That’s a lot of giving! Good for them. You might not know it but I’m sure they will be influenced by your bug...

Well, things get more interesting if you only have daughters...like me

 By: hoseachandra : August 11th, 2020-00:07
And they seems are not into watches, although they are still teenager. Lately I wonder what to do with my collection later...sell them or give them to relatives...or let my daughters decide (maybe they will keep it for investment, not for wearing).

That's so true about ladies market for watches....

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 11th, 2020-09:01
Even though brands have been coming out with more ladies watches, it doesn't seem to gain traction. I think most of us here agree when it's time to go, just pass on )

I only have one daughter and she likes watches but def not the way I adore them 😉

 By: Watchonthewrists : August 11th, 2020-00:39
Tbh I don’t care what she will do with my collection if i am not around anymore, it all depends if i can life long enough and know my end is near and i have a chance to decide what to do with them . Basically I leave it up to her

That's the spirit....

It is what it is and we all try to be responsible parents and let our generation be better. Good input and in line with most of us, I agree your views too. Cheers and just enjoy while we can

Who to get what might be a problem itself too 😅

Good luck but they are in good hands

Who knows, whatever the trends

or the time, we all reconnect to our ancestors through certain things. Often, a watch ends up telling the time again, especially if a particular watch was linked to a person, If and when not, it will be converted to new assets. What matters is that time g...

That’s true about reconnecting and leaving a good legacy...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 11th, 2020-15:57
I guess it depends on how much you like to be remembered, good or bad way, lol... Best is keep them in attic and let the next generation find them and bring to auction houses, wow, NOS by my granddad! Yup, just enjoy life 👍🏻
