Alpha radiation is very easily blocked. It will not reach your vital organs. Won’t reach anything actually. Unless you swallow the dial. Don’t s allow the dial.
Radium decays by alpha decay
It does emit a tiny amount of low energy gamma rays as well. Radium decays into radon gas which is leaking out of our watch cases. You geiger counter is detecting Alpha particles.
