I have been talking to a VRF member who did lots of research on lume and besides radium they also used Strontium 90 in the lume . As Switserland would use Strontium 90 as a base compound for medical purposes untill prohibited by the USA they where left with supplies of Strontium 90, which where sold to dial makers and watch companies.
