Hello holdemchamp

I played 3 days a week at Borgata until covid. Now reduced 2 a couple of times a week at home games. Better than nothing. So what big tournaments have u won if u don't mind saying. Your watch collection is spetacular.

Thanks Art

Let's play a little game as it will be fun to see the outcome. Anyone can play, obviously. Good luck πŸ‘

So doing some spring/summer cleaning and thought I would take a few quick and dirty photos. Not your typical Rolex group shot 😁😜 So the game is: try to name all 10 watches by reference number. Be careful as there are a couple tricky ones πŸ˜‰πŸ€” No cheating fo...

I just see a whole bunch of Rollies...

 By: K-Lo : June 20th, 2020-08:55
Is that offensive?

Interesting. I didn’t know Rolex would restore a vintage watch

 By: descartes1 : June 20th, 2020-10:20
I was wondering about some of the small details, so it’s in interesting to see the results of a factory restoration. Great stuff!

Rolex no longer wants to restore vintage watches. This is true. And the cost is ridiculous as well...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 20th, 2020-10:39
All of these 10 were restored by Rolex prior to 2012. Rolex will continue to service watches, modern or vintage, BUT be very careful as they will replace vintage parts with newer replacement parts. I had a few contacts at Rolex headquarters who are now go...

Many thanks Bill. You are the King of GMTs. As you can see, I prefer Chronos 😁. Even most of my modern and contemporary watches are Chronos πŸ˜‰

So no guesses? Seems no one wants to play this game πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

LOLOL

Your analysis continues to amaze me "Grail" master. What envy piece you have on your wrist today?

This one 😜

I see! [nt]

 By: amanico : June 20th, 2020-23:14

Thanks Ed. I showed a few other vintage pieces prior but these 10 have never been shown here so I thought it would be fun to post a game πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 20th, 2020-09:46
Hoarding is not a virtue I would recommend πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

I think this post will be an all time high when your sentence said the top few can pick the model they like....

And I will ..... send it to you....but it is not the case, lol...great collection Justin. Auctio houses will love working with you.

LOL, these are not for sale Raymond but I would agree that the auction houses would love the chance...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 20th, 2020-10:06
5 of these are COMPLETE sets with ALL box and papers as well as the original bill of sale. 8 of the 10 have been professionally restored by Rolex Geneva so are in amazing condition, probably the best examples I have seen. I have many others, of which I ha...

I’ll play. πŸ˜‰

Best, V. ...

What the heck? When were you at my golf club and why didn't you contact me? We could have had a great time on the course and at the bar πŸ˜‰πŸΊπŸ₯ƒπŸΉ

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 20th, 2020-10:11
Forgot to say, I have a villa on the golf course Volker so please let me know next time you are down πŸ˜‰πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈβ›³

I haven’t been there for a couple of years.

 By: Pretty Boy : June 20th, 2020-10:44
I often stayed at the hotel and played there during MIPIM. Great memories. Unlike me, my wife isn’t a huge fan of CΓ΄te d’Azur. I should plan to go there on my own and play a couple of rounds. Nice is just a short flight from here.

Hi Art. Borgata is nice, been there a few times...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 20th, 2020-10:43
don't play many tournaments to be honest as I prefer nose bleed level cash games. As for my poker CV, I would prefer not to say as I value my privacy πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ We can correspond offline or off the forum since this is a watch forum and not a poker forum πŸ˜œπŸ‘ ...

Thank you so very much for sharing.... wow! [nt]

There are collectors and then there are collectors... Congratulations to you.

Godly collection of vintage pieces, I’m lost for words...

left to right Top 6538 6240 6265 6240 6238 6238 Bottom 6263 6264 6265 6238 Sorry but I'm not Bill. Cheers S

You have 3 out of 6 correct on the top row and 2 of 4 correct on the bottom...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 20th, 2020-13:06
not going to say which or which order πŸ˜‰

I'll try

 By: descartes1 : June 20th, 2020-13:25
Top row left to right: 5514, 6263, 6239, 6240, 6238, 6238 Bottom row: 6263, 6264, 6262, 6238

6265? 6239? [nt]

 By: amanico : June 20th, 2020-23:15

Well, since chronos are my favorite type of complication I would say I know more about them then a Sub, SD, GMT, etc...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 21st, 2020-03:59
but I am sure I am far from an expert when it comes to the vast scope of information out there πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I will say I have learned a few things over the years πŸ˜‰

From top left, clockwise...

6538 (5510? service dial anyway!), 6265, 6239, 6240 (really?), 6238, 6238, 6238, 6239, 6241, 6263..... First one, if a 6538, the only one I have owned!

VERY good Mary, 7.5 or 8 out of 10 but which ones πŸ˜πŸ€”

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 21st, 2020-03:39
And no service dial for the 5510 as I already gave the reference once Nico guessed above so see below. Will post more photos after the game is done 😁 ...

Well, it's too much for me...

 By: Mary Anny : June 21st, 2020-03:46
Didn't know 5510 (very late ones, I suppose) came with tritium dials with Submariner on the top and feet first!

Forgot to also say, yes it is really a 6240 πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 21st, 2020-04:08
see below ...

Naming refs, Iβ€˜m totally out of my depth

 By: mrds : June 21st, 2020-03:41
But I can still admire a stunning collection of Rollies! My fave is the Big Crown, but for the Dayto fans this must feel like being a kid in the candy store! Which one are you wearing today? Best, Daniel

You're in for a treat Daniel 😁. I am a chrono guy as you can probably guess so the candy store reference applies for me as well...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 21st, 2020-03:53
Wore this one yesterday as I already posted earlier in the thread which you probably missed. And lucky for me you prefer the big crown as that was what I put on this morning πŸ˜œπŸ˜‰ ...

Beautiful! You must have had a great day with this 5510!

 By: mrds : June 21st, 2020-10:06
I had a Sub day as well, wearing a simple 5513. Cheers, Daniel ...
