From what I heard, no it is not true.

Feb 06, 2020,22:39 PM

My ad told me that they place an order of what they want and eventually they get what they order, they just do not know when.

However there are several ads that sell the wanted watches for a premium.
Another ad told me that they can easily get me a Daytona but I have to pay her 20,000 euros and it would be a good deal meaning that she usually sells it for more.
(I thanked her kindly as I do not like to pay over the regular prices)
Cheers

I heard that too...but it also, imo, depends on who you are :)

Majority of "us" are unfortunately not influential enough to ask for what we want

It is true indeed [nt]

Select exclusive dealers and those that are considered boutiques. They can place orders but they don't know when the order gets fulfilled.

Establish a relationship with your sales advisor.

When a new place comes in to the store they will let the sales advisor know. It is for the sales advisor to let clients know what came in or whatever looking for. It is first come first serve.

Yes it is... Per my SA

My wife and I know the store manager and have bought close to a dozen Rolex watches from them over the recent years. But now, all we get is " I have many customers who spend $200k a year in my store and I have to satisfy them first. " So yes, a relationsh...

That’s terrible!

I am so glad i have no interest in Rolex. Until the customers say “enough of this nonsense” and move their purchasing $$$ to other brands - this will not change. Rolex is a mass produced consumer product (a LUXURY consumer product) but still mass-produced...

Europe, North America, Middle East and Far East may all have slightly different practices. Even different countries within those regions may have different practices but for the most part the original poster is still correct.

It Is How My AD Works

 By: Koozy : February 7th, 2020-08:32
My UK based AD has about 5 senior Sales Assistants (SAa). Having spoken with my SA, I understand they take it in turns to sell the sought after watches to one of their key clients (each SA has several key clients) but they don't know what stock they will ...

Yes, this is my observation

I hear Rolex has phased out all ordering which is now across the line. Dealers get what they get and that is it. They do not even get a heads up on what is coming. If you see a piece you like in PM or TT and want it, buy it as it would tough to know when ...
