The year be fore and year before that… This is my holiday beater and it doesn’t get spared at all. Dips in the sea, playing with my two boys and just taking it easy. It’s perfect for this job and suits the mood. it’s gotten a few marks and loads of swirl ...  

As chance would have it, I finally bagged a 2015 Z-Blue 116400 around a week ago. It's still also telling great time. As you say, it's nice to see these being loved. Enjoy!

I am not a fanboy by any means, if I like a watch I will go for it regardless of the brand. I do find it unfair when ppl accuse Rolex of not taking risks. Yes, most of what they do is pretty safe, but most of the times when they dare to break the mold a b...  

Mostly adjust carefully and it’s all the more fun when they go crazy like this one.

Btw: the way you played with the light in your photos, it looks like you own two MG’’s; the Z blue and the black dial

Thats the thing with the Z-Blue, it dances with the light.

Funny that I used to think the Z dial was ugly but liked the others. One day I saw it in a window of a dealer and I completely changed my opinion 😉

My son says it’s his favorite so … 😉 I pretty much only use it during holidays so it already has a lot of great memories tied to it. 😊

...my vacation beater too! I haven't checked availability but if I was buying another Rolex, it would probably be the Milgauss. Curious to see what Rolex will do with the Milgauss given that Tudor is now "playing" with Metas.

I gave my wife a Rolex for our wedding. She has worn it almost every day since. It has loads of little scratches but I can’t help thinking that’s her life on that watch.

Love that model! Fully agree on battle scars too, all my watches have worn in marks, makes them mine! I never understood the mindset of people who keep their watches in safes unworn, some even sealed! I guess that’s what differentiates a collector from an... 

I’ve never seen a scratch that ruined the watch but I have seen loads and loads of polishing jobs that did ruin the watch. Thank you so much for your input 👍

Do you mean polishing jobs by third party or the original manufacturer? I always send in my watches for a full service and refinishing at the five year mark. With the big brands it’s always a pleasure to see how they come back like new.
