Rolex Sea Dweller 50th Anniversary Ref 126600 / Deep Sea Dweller Ref 116660. Poll!

 By: amanico : November 6th, 2018-00:26
Credit picture: Watch Club. Nota Bene: The ceramic bezels are not grey but black, this is a tick of the light. That being said, we have a 44 mm case for the Deep Sea Dweller, and a 43 mm case for the 50th Anniversary. Steel for both. Thicker lugs for the ...

Had both, defintiely the 50th Anniversary

The deepsea is a tad too big but especially too high

50th and the one before the 50th...

 By: patrick_y : November 6th, 2018-00:34
The smaller Sea Dwellers are definitely very desirable to me; as they can be worn on a regular basis easily and comfortably than the DeepSea which I find uncomfortable and too heavy. The Deep Sea is similar to a Vacheron Constantin Overseas in steel, whic...

50h Anniversary ..

It’s a great watch when you see it physically on your wrist. The Deep Sea feels a little over the top in comparison. It just sits to high on the wrist. Both are great watches.

LOL! [nt]

My 2 favorite Rolex... they're so over-engineered

 By: kykw : November 6th, 2018-00:49
My choice is this... just feel more balanced on wrist, even tho the 2018 deepsea is an improvement to the previous version. Ken ...

Deepsea D-Blue for me. Gone but not forgotten.

Best, Volker ...

It’s a bit big and bold.

 By: Pretty Boy : November 6th, 2018-06:55
But the main reason was that, at that time, I parted with Rolex, a decision I have reversed in the meantime.

I went for the SD 43

By: COUNT DE MONET : November 6th, 2018-01:07
It has got what a future classic needs to have: red writing (that will surely disappear and be replaced by a white one) and Mark dials additionally (mine is a Mark I). The Deepsea is nice, no doubt, but the SD acquisition is more pressing as it might disa...

I didn’t know of mark dials on the 50th 43 SD...

 By: mywrongwrist : November 11th, 2018-09:48
... mine was the first received by my AD so I suppose to share with you the mark I, which are the difference vs the other / newer dials? Thanks in advance for enlightening me on this Best Luca

Mark I dials have gut the well known "Swiss Made" print at six o'clock

By: COUNT DE MONET : November 11th, 2018-10:00
The current dials have got "Swiss (and then the Rolex Crown as a) symbol Made". Imran has actually spread this news here.

Both are a little too big for my wrist but I do love the Deepsea dial.

The black and blue transition and the green text looks spectacular. Regards Kev.

Both

I suspect if rumors posted are true about these models being short lived, either watch will be highly collectible in the future.

I could see in a very high magnification that the red printing is above a white one. This could be: a) to make the red writing more radiant b) the dial set up is programed for both colours already To me it is "clear as dumplings broth" ( German saying) th...

Red Letter for me.

 By: VMM : November 6th, 2018-05:57
Both are too large for my taste, but if i had to choose I'd go for the 50th Anniversary. Vte

A watch I would not mind owning given the oppportunity... the deep is simply too tall and large on my wrist. But the dial is cool...

SD 43

 By: MTR : November 16th, 2018-11:55
even if the Deep Sea has got some improvements now. I tried them both, and for me the SD is easier to wear. Best Thomas

126660 Blue for me

 By: gpinto75 : November 23rd, 2018-10:42
The visible updates are subtle but collectively make a big difference. Size and comfort work for me, in the abstract and when compared to other watches I enjoy wearing. Bracelet adjustability while on the wrist is brilliant, of course. Dial is more appeal...

Old Post, but thought I'd chime in

 By: Mostel : June 16th, 2019-18:35
I got a chance to try both of these on at an AD... while there's no arguing that the SD Red is a perfect specimen, and preferable to a Sub--my issue w it is that it looks too much like a Sub. So, at a glance, you have 'a Sub' on your wrist... the Red is s...

Voted with my wallet, too

 By: gpinto75 : November 23rd, 2018-20:13
Will have mine on-wrist sometime next week. Well reported changes, include: thinned and reshaped lugs; lengthened minute and seconds hands; widened bracelet and clasp, updated ring font; and, of course, new movement. What’s less well known is that the lug...

The Deepsea gets my vote.

By: One day just one watch : June 22nd, 2019-10:11
I have had both versions and sold them already because the Deepsea is a bit too heavy, bulky, sits high on your wrist so you keep hitting stuff, but...I really love the black and blue dial, i love all the technology that have been put into it and i think ...

You know my answer ... now ☺️

Deepsea for me. And here due to many tangible improvements the new 126660. So I have to revise my former vote. Best, Thomas ...

I am afraid...

 By: MTR : June 22nd, 2019-15:05
... 14:8 since I have now revised my vote 7 month ago for the SD 50th anniversary. ☺️

14-8. Noted. [nt]
