Before I knew anything about luxury watches...

I thought Rolex was merely a marketing juggernaut whose mechanical attributes likely were scoffed at by those in the know. I clearly was wrong on that. I have a modest inventory of nice watches... these 3 get a lot of wrist time.

I think my taste evolved from reading Nic’s posts from way way back. I read a lot about watch histories as well. Mechanisms, history etc. It is quite similar to appraising art where context, provenance, and the skill of the artist determine the intrinsic ...

It is so versatile and just all around great looking. I prefer bracelets to leather straps in summer weather when I am wearing mostly shorts and short sleeves shirts. And my Railmaster is my only other bracelet watch besides my 3 Rolex.

Rolex is amazing.
