Platinum Daytona is a masterpiece.I prefer it with the classic dial,brown counters,more strong,more male.I like to think diamonds are better for women.I don't like The Green Daytona,too classic,and blue,too similar to steel. And I don't understand why I should like yellow gold now, just because he opened his mouth a man named Jhon Mayer.I guess I didn't know who he is.I bought Daytona yellow when everyone bought steel,today that everyone wants Daytona yellow I buy something different, that can make me different from the mass...

I personally like it a lot and feel that one day it would be the most sort after modern Daytona . Just need an endorsement like the Green and the blue Daytona got from John Meyer and this would be history too... ...

I do think it’s an important watch in the sense that it’s the first and only platinum sports/professional watch Rolex has ever made (I think)

When they made it out of platinum...
and put diamonds on the dials it went from a tool watch to a rich man's bauble. Don't get me wrong, it's very pretty, but it's sort of frivolous imho.

if I had huge $ I might even buy one and put it in a fifty-watch rotation. But the diamonds take it out of the tool watch category as far as I’m concerned...but that might just be me.
Agree. I like platinum for more dressy pieces, say a Day Date, a Calatrava, or even a Nautilus...
but steel is so much more appropriate for a tool watch and I also prefer the look of both the black and the white ceramic Daytona. It seems like OP still needs to remove some stickers from his platinum one...
