Richard Mille RM25-01

I was fortunate enough to attend the Bridge event last year and had the opportunity to handle the latest 25-01 model.

At first glance, the watch was intimidating due to it's massive case size and of course the grand price tag of almost $1 million.  But the watch warmed up to me soon as I had it in my hands. The light weight and it's ergonomic case details were well developed to accommodate it's size.

I personally like the divers more than the tonneau shaped models.  If you haven't tried one on, I encourage you to do so.  I believe many shy away from this model due to it's size but the curved case back with sharp angled lugs and thick bezel ratio to dial, makes the watch actually wearable.  My wrist size is 7.25 (round) inches and in my opinion, I can pull this off.  They key is to have the medium or the short strap which is made differently from the larger size straps.

Needless to say, this particular model is way out of my price range but I dream to acquire either the RM60, RM32 or the RM28.  In the meantime, I'll be in the gym doing sets of wrist curls to beef up my wrists.

Joe

Lugs angle down sharp to wrap the wrist.

Thick bezel to dial ratio really creates an optical illusion of the watch being less than 50.85 mm.

Endless hidden details

And the tourbillion movement.

My "little" RM 028 is very comfortable too although it is big and bold. I think it is really the curved bottom and the lugs which make it like this. ...

I have huge crush on RM28.

It is always hard to get a feel for such a watch so having a first person look counts a lot. Crazy money but then a again a mechanical marvel. Bill
