What a wonderful review - I very much enjoyed the photographs and reading about the event.
This evening I happened upon the origin of the term "Maltese Falcon" which I did not know about - apparently in 1530 the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V ceded the island of Malta to the Hospitallers at an annual charge of one Mediterranean Peregrine Falcon from the island. I see that the clipper is (or is to be) registered in Valetta.
