Frx,
Thanks for the on-wrist pictures of the PIAGET Minute Repeater and we look forward to your observations...eventually.
Piaget did a world tour showing this SSS (superb sounding striking) watch in selected locations, a few months before Christmas 2012. It was a restricted viewing and so no photography was allowed. Except for one person who sneaked a photograph, we all complied with the no-photo rules until SIHH 2013.
I am not an expert on striking watches but my regular-issue Mk.1 eyeballs and ear (the working one) registered great aesthetic and aural pleasure for the ultra-thinness of the movement/case and the CCC of the sound (clarity, cadence, clangour).
The case had to be a little bigger to accommodate the waterproofing -- Yes: this is a water resistant minute repeater. Don't go scuba diving but at least you don't have to wrap it in cling-film and seal inside two sandwich plastic bags...like some PuristS I know do with their Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin strikers when it rains.
Regards,
MTF
