SIHH 2018: Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept - world’s thinnest mechanical hand-wound watch at just 2mm thick

Jan 14, 2018,10:08 AM

Piaget creates an exciting watch for SIHH 2018 - the Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept which is the world's thinnest mechanical manual wind watch at just 2mm thick.  Yes only a mere 2mm!!  Case is 41mm btw.

Diameter wise, it's the same size as the historical Calibre 9P.

Our team down on the ground at SIHH 2018 will provide more in-depth coverage, but thought I'd share the initial details with you.

Cheers,
Anthony

Thanks Anthony! This looks amazing. I'm looking forward to more details about the crown (or rather the winding mechanism). It seems it's integrated into the case??? Best, --DMS

Not only that it is utterly thin: it looks fabulous, too! A crown fully integrated to the case: that is design! Bravo Piaget!

That is truly astonishing!

I begs the question of why "regular" watches need all that mass. It's the Lotus Elise of the watch world. Cazalea

I love everything about this watch...
