Renamed and redesigned Piaget Black Tie

Nov 01, 2024,06:11 AM

Now officially named “the Andy Warhol watch”, the 45mm Black Tie comes with dauphine hands (instead of needles) and a clous de Paris bezel (instead of stepped).

The crazy 1972 fashion vibe is still here, but I think I personally preferred the stepped bezel and needle hands.

I’ve added, for comparison, photos of the previous variants since the reintroduction of the model in 2014.

Best.

The second best blue meteorite dial I have seen ☺️. I have a slight bias for mine, not just because I have it, but because I do feel it's a bit more subtle in its color and overall presentation.... ...

The dial reflects even in bad/low light conditions, I snapped a couple of deliberately 'low quality' pictures inside my car at night to showcase this fact!.... ...

Both are great if you ask me

The black dial with the stick hands and the stepped case is awesome, pure, elegant, formal, a bit Art Deco. The new blue meteorite with the Dauphine hands and the cloud de Paris bezel is perhaps less formal but just as elegant and captivating… I think it ...

Both would be great indeed! 😁

But if i had to choose only one, it would personally be the stepped bezel, needle hands variant!

Ultimately I’m probably with you on this

Although I looooooove Dauphine hands, the black dial + stepped bezel combo is just ace. The clous de Paris jar a tiny bit against the crown.

Any dress watch should be applauded nowadays…

Even if I personally preferred the stepped bezel of the previous iteration. But that’s pure personal preference. Nice selection of the versions, too - thanks for that 🙏🏻

Now this is the original and most charming square watch in my mind👌🏽

I agree with you about the strong preference for the previous stepped bezel/case, but this is an iconic piece especially with the different stone dials. Also, it immediately reminds me of our dear departed friend Ovais.

Both are very nice with

the new one being bolder/more aggressive. From these pics - I would go for the first one.

I like that one best too, however customization is part of the offering now too
