er... frankly, i didn’t make any deliberate consideration on DOF and lighting as I’m still learning through experimentation.
i was using my 60mm macro lens on the APS-C CL and made sure the lights are in front of the figures. thanks!

you might want to experiment with different f-stops, particularly when shooting in macro mode. This may require the use of a tripod as smaller aperture settings (i.e. f/4.5 or f/8 or f/11) increase the DOF, but may necessitate longer shutter speeds. Enjoy...
